Thoughts On Doom On The Nintendo Switch

Thoughts On Doom On The Nintendo Switch

As you know, here at Mods R Us, we are all about first person shooters. We have been taking a real close look at Call Of Duty WW II lately, but there is another first person shooter that was announced recently that took us and many other people by surprise and that is Doom….. for the Nintendo Switch.

While we focus on modded controllers for the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It is still very interesting to us that the Nintendo Switch is getting a port of Doom. This is the same Doom that blew us away last year on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC it actually works great with our controllers.

The Nintendo Switch is not as powerful as the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One so the game has taken a hit in the frame rate department. It has been said that it is locked at 30 FPS which has gotten some people up in arms. We feel that the fact this is running at all on the Nintendo Switch is amazing and to be honest with you, people who never got to play the game on Xbox One, PS4 or PC are probably not actually going to notice.

Doom is going to just have the single player campaign on the Switch cartridge or card. The multiplayer is going to be available, but you have to download it and it is a 9 GB download! With the tiny 32 GB storage that the Switch has, this is actually a far bigger deal than the game running at 30 FPS!

Going back to the 30 FPS thing, we feel that as every Switch owner is going to be on a level playing field, the lower frame rate should not be an issue, but we are sure that some of you who have played the other versions will certainly notice it.
