Quake Champions Not A Bigger Deal?

Quake Champions Not A Bigger Deal?
Quake Champions Not A Bigger Deal?

There have been some pretty big hitters when it comes to first person shooters released in the last 24 months. Games like Overwatch, Doom, Battlefront 2, COD WW II and even Titanfall 2 are making sure the FPS genre is front and center. With all the big games being released in such a short time, some will always get lost in the shuffle, one of these we feel is Quake Champions!

How is a new Quake game not a bigger deal? It is being made by Bethesda and ID so it is sure to be a lot of fun and while we have not been part of the beta or the early access. From what we have seen and heard, those who have taken part are having an awesome time. Quake Champions is going to offer a “free to play” model which may be what has made some people decide to not bother with the game or have any interest.

But as the first Quake game in over a decade, we are really quite shocked at how little attention the game has gotten. While we are running out of months in 2017. That 2017 release date Bethesda gave us is looking less and less likely. But they are supporting those early access players very well with new updates and characters (Doom Guy!) to mess around with.

As of right now, Quake Champions is only due out for PC, but Bethesda has not completely ruled out making a Xbox One or PlayStation 4 port of the game.

Tips For War Mode In Call Of Duty WWII

War Mode is one of the best new things that Sledgehammer Games added to Call Of Duty WWII. While we wish there were a few more maps, we have had a blast with this mode and wanted to share a few basic tips with you for this mode so you can have as much fun as we are.

You Have To Work As A Team

We cannot think of another game mode in Call Of Duty that requires teamwork as much as War Mode. In an ideal world, you will have a headset so you can communicate with the rest of your squad. If you do not, make sure you are doing your part, completing objectives or even becoming a human target so that one of your teammates can complete an objective while the enemy is busy with you.

Use Smoke Grenades

Smoke grenades… really? Well yes, while these are kind of useless in most other game modes, War Mode is not like other game modes in Call Of Duty WWII. Smoke grenades can allow you to get in and build that bridge, or provide cover so you can get away from that tank. As soon as you have them unlocked, add them to your loadout.

Take Advantage Of Your Defenses

When you are playing on the defensive side, take the time to build up your defenses. This can be a great way to make the enemy go where you want them to go or even get them to try and take them down, leaving them vulnerable as they do.

Use Your Knowledge Of The Maps

As there are only three maps, you will know them very well. Use this to your advantage. Anticipate the areas that the enemy is most likely going to attack from and set up a trap. Find areas that are easy to hide in so you can make it to an objective. Just take the time to learn the maps as best you can.

The History Of The Rainbow Six Series Part 8 Vegas
The History Of The Rainbow Six Series Part 8

What we are looking at today may actually be the first Rainbow Six game that many people played!

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas (2006/2007) Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3

The best way to think of Rainbow Six Vegas is as a whole new ball game for the series as this in many ways is actually serving as a reboot of the series. Ubisoft had a clear vision for what they wanted Rainbow Six to be going forward.

As you would expect the story is set in Vegas one of the tourist hot spots of the world. The basics of the story are that Las Vegas is going to be hit with one of the worst terrorist attacks of all time and only Rainbow team can stop it. One of the interesting things about the story is that you experience the majority of it in game and not with lengthy cut scenes. It actually works very well and immerses you in the action.

Gameplay wise, Ubisoft really changed things up as Rainbow Six Vegas feels like no other Rainbow Six game. While you could still give orders to your teammates (which you did with the d pad) things like regenerating health, 3rd person cover shooter sections and the fact that missions had checkpoints gave the game a much more action packed feel than any other game in the series. One of the coolest things they added was using ropes to move up and down the building all the while shooting! Gameplay was nice and tight and for many was that perfect blend of being action packed while also offering tactical based gameplay.

Rainbow Six Vegas was a huge hit. It was very well received, people love the single player campaign and multiplayer was very popular as well. In all, it was a great reboot of the series and actually introduced many new players to the series as well.
