The History Of The Rainbow Six Series Part 6
The History Of The Rainbow Six Series Part 6

Get ready to dish out some more orders to your squad as we have a look at another one of the classic games in the Rainbow Six series.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Lockdown (2005) Xbox, PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, PC

By now, Rainbow Six was one of the premier shooter franchises and for this installment, things to a bit more of an action heavy kind of feel. Once again you play as Rainbow team. In the year 2009, you have been tasked with putting a stop to a terrorist organization called Global Liberation Front who have a virus called Legion that they want to unleash.

The console versions of the game were certainly more action based. Added into the console versions were these sniper sections which had a real shooter gallery kind of feel as you had to pick off various targets. Interestingly these sniper sections were not in the PC game. While Rainbow Six Lockdown still featured many of the tactical elements from past games. Action certainly seemed to be the direction that Ubisoft wanted to take the series in.

This more action heavy game resulted in mixed reviews, especially for the PC version as many fans felt this was a dumbed down version of what they had come to love.

Both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox would get their own exclusive online mode with the PlayStation 2 having Rivalry and the Xbox having a mode called Persistent Elite Creation which was actually a huge deal and something many people got into. The GameCube version did not support online play, but it did have an exclusive 2 player co-op mode.

This is not one of the more popular games in the series and you could argue that the response it got made Ubisoft take a long hard look at the series.

What Is Next For Battlefield?

What Is Next For Battlefield?

Battlefield 1 was a monster of a hit and it is still being supported via updates to this day, it seems like all the major updates that we are getting are out of the way and Dice are cooking something big for 2018, but what could it be?

There have been many rumors this week about a new Battlefield game coming in 2018, if you really dig deep, it actually sounds like two games could be in the works. The first rumor was that Battlefield Bad Company 3 was the game that would be released in 2018 and a popular YouTuber who “leaked” this information even made claims that it would have a Vietnam setting. This has been quite widely debunked since it was announced, but many people still feel that Bad Company 3 is in the works as we speak.

If it is not Battlefield Bad Company 3 then what is it? Well, it does seem like the next Battlefield game could be set during World War II. COD had phenomenal success with Call Of Duty WWII so it makes sense that Dice would be interested in making a game based on this. Plus with how good Battlefield 1 was, we would love to see this current team take a crack at WWII as we are sure they would do an amazing job.

No matter what kind of game we get, be it a WWII Battlefield or a return to the Bad Company series, it is almost certain that 2018 is going to see a new Battlefield game released!

Call Of Duty WW2 Dominates Sales Charts

Call Of Duty WW2 Dominates Sales Charts

It is no secret that Call Of Duty WW2 is one of the best received games in the series. It was a great return to form for the series and we have not actually heard anyone who has played it really have anything negative to say about it.

We all knew that it had sold well, but the amazing news is actually coming out of the UK where Call Of Duty is the number one selling game of 2017 and is the Christmas number one game, a title that Call Of Duty has held for the last 4 years in a row (yes even Infinite Warfare) and in total has held 8 times!

The only games that have beaten it are Fifa 09 in 2008, Skyrim in 2011 and Fifa 14 which was released in 2013. It is a truly phenomenal run that shows no matter how much people like to make fun of the annual Call Of Duty series, that this series has some serious legs and in all honesty when it comes to iconic gaming series. Even if you are not a huge Call Of Duty fan, you have to put it up there with the likes of Mario, Sonic, Halo, Resident Evil and the other iconic games.

The people at Activision must be thrilled as even though they held the top spot last year, Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare was not as well received. Call Of Duty WW2, on the other hand, has not only sold like hot cakes, it has also been very well received by gaming media and people who have actually played the game.

Overwatch Halloween Terror | Now Live 2017
Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017 Is Now Live!

Overwatch is an awesome game. It is not just that it is a very fun and accessible first person shooter. But the whole style and lore behind it that has really gotten people hooked. Blizzard really did knock it out of the park.

Last year, Junkenstein's Revenge was a huge success and now the mode is back as part of this year’s Halloween event. But rather than just playing through a few hordes of enemies. You can now play it for as long as you like in order to see how long you can last. The real star though is the new Halloween themed skins which people are going crazy for and really praying that they are going to get when they open up a loot box. There is going to be a ton of cool new items for us to try and get and we have until the 2nd of November to get them which should hopefully be enough time to make it happen.

The fact that Blizzard is giving this away for free is one of the reasons that so many people get into Overwatch. Sure you have to grind like hell to get them all, but as the game is so much fun to play, many people really do not mind this at all.

So remember you have until November 2nd to take advantage of this. This is certainly something we are going to do as we were really bummed out last year when they took Junkenstein's Revenge away after the event finished!
